About Journal
Frontiers in Neuroinflammation and Neurodegenerative Diseases is an esteemed interdisciplinary journal that focuses on exploring the complex interplay between neuroinflammation and various neurodegenerative diseases. FNND aims to publish cutting-edge research articles, comprehensive reviews, and insightful perspectives that contribute to the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of these debilitating conditions.
The scope of Frontiers in Neuroinflammation and Neurodegenerative Diseases journal encompasses a comprehensive range of topics related to the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases. The journal provides a platform for the dissemination of high-quality research, reviews, case reports, commentaries, perspectives, hypothesis, short communications, letter to editors, mini-reviews etc. in the following areas:
- Mechanisms of neuroinflammation: Investigation of the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neuroinflammatory processes and their impact on neurodegenerative diseases.
- Pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases: Exploration of the etiology, progression, and underlying mechanisms of various neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and others.
- Inflammatory mediators and signaling pathways: Analysis of the roles played by cytokines, chemokines, immune cells, and other inflammatory mediators in neuroinflammation and their involvement in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases.
- Neuroinflammatory biomarkers: Identification and evaluation of potential biomarkers and imaging techniques for the diagnosis, monitoring, and prognosis of neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative conditions.
- Therapeutic interventions: Investigation of novel therapeutic strategies, including pharmacological agents, immunomodulation, stem cell therapy, gene therapy, and neuroprotective approaches to mitigate neuroinflammation and delay or halt the progression of neurodegenerative diseases.
- Neuroinflammation and cognitive impairment: Understanding the impact of neuroinflammation on cognitive function, memory, learning, and other cognitive domains in neurodegenerative diseases.
- Neuroimmunology: Study of the interactions between the immune system and the central nervous system, elucidating the roles of glial cells, immune responses, and immune dysregulation in neurodegenerative processes.
- Translational and clinical research: Translation of basic science discoveries into clinical applications, evaluation of therapeutic interventions in preclinical and clinical settings, and clinical trials aimed at improving patient outcomes in neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
