Guide For Editor in Chief
The Editor-in-Chief of Emres journal is responsible for supervising all aspects of the peer review process for the publication over the course of their term. They will work with a team of associate editors, senior area editors, and editorial staff to ensure timely peer review and quality publication.
Other common roles and responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief include the following:
- Nomination of new editorial board members.
- Must oversee the entire peer review process and should be able to provide decisions for manuscripts in situations of ambiguity or conflict with the assistance of associate editors, the advisory board, and editorial coordinators.
- The Editor-in-Chief will have the complete authority to make an immediate decision on the manuscript ahead of the editorial board.
- Must be able to evaluate the content and the editorial policies for the journal.
- Must be responsible for careful and critical examination of the special issue proposals received for the journal.
- Should make all reasonable efforts to ensure that a proper investigation into alleged misconduct is conducted; if this does not happen, editors should make all reasonable attempts to persist in obtaining a resolution to the problem.
- Should be able to respond to any complaints received and must ensure there is a way for dissatisfied complainants to escalate their complaints further.
- Must be able to promote the journal among scholars associated with the specialist field of the journal while also promoting the journal as one of the best places to publish their work.
- Must be able to conduct an annual meeting of the editorial board with a discussion on the journal's activities and its improvement.
- Writing editorials on current hot topics within the scope of the respective journals.
